If the shoe fits.. and is comfortable?

Today Disney finally released the trailer for the live action CINDERELLA!!! The movie comes out the day before my honey’s birthday, March 13, 2015! I am so excited! This has alway’s been one of my favorite stories and I am excited to see all of the new twists and turn’s that come out this time around.

So who is exactly is playing the lead? Lily James of course! If you have Downton Abbey (I’ve watched one episode.. so technically no) you will recognize her, but overall she is pretty new to Hollywood and I have a hunch taking the title role in one of the most beloved Princesses of all time, might just catapult her career into overdrive.

Here’s a tiny backstory, courtesy of Wiki.

In 2012, James played the role of Katrina in Play House and Marijka in Definitely the Bahamas in a double bill written and directed by Martin Crimp at the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond, London as part of the theatre’s fortieth anniversary. Charles Spencer of The Telegraph wrote that “it is performed with a persuasive mixture of mischief and deeper feeling by Obi Abili and Lily James, the latter combining a mixture of neuroticism and glowing sexual allure that proves extraordinarily potent.”[3] Her other theatre credits include Desdemona in Daniel Evans production of Othello at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, alongside Dominic Westand Clarke Peters and Ella and Taylor in Vernon God Little at the Young Vic Theatre in Tanya Ronda’s stage adaptation of the novel Vernon God Little directed by Rufus Norris.[4] More recently she starred as Nina in a modern adaptation of The Seagull at Southwark Playhouse.

James starred in Fast Girls, the 2012 movie directed by Noel Clarke centered around a group of young female athletes competing in the World Championships. Previous to this, James played the role of Korrina in Warner Brothers‘ the Wrath of the Titans. Her television credits include Poppy in the fourth season of ITV’s Secret Diary of a Call Girl, the BBC production of Richmal Crompton‘s Just William, and the rebellious Lady Rose in the third and fourth seasons of popular British series Downton Abbey.[5]

James has been cast as the title character in a live-action Disney film version of Cinderella.[6] The film is expected to be released on 13 March 2015, and the movie poster features James as Cinderella, photographed by Annie Leibovitz, in the blue gown that she wears to the ball.[7]
