The Perfect Knot
The knot hairstyle has been around forever, but up until recently it was solely used for trips to the gym or cleaning the house.
Thanks to the spring 2011 runway, the knot hairstyle can now be used on a daily basis for the girl on the go. There are a multitude of ways to wear this style and it can be seen everywhere from your local market to primetime television shows, like Gossip Girl. This easy style provides a chic look to any outfit, but always for a quick style that you do not have to spend too much time preparing.
I am in constant envy of Kelly Rutherford who plays Lilly Humphrey on Gossip Girl. She maybe one of the oldest members of the cast, however, she has no lack of style, grace and beauty. She is known for her constant up-dos and this spring season has been no exception to this rule.
It’s important to remember to highlight some aspect of your makeup, the way Kelly Rutherford often highlights her eyes. When your hair is drawn back, you want to force focus onto a different part of your face, like the eyes. Adding a dramatic black eyeliner to your top lids is a great example of this simple, yet chic way to compliment an updo.
This easy style can be done in the blink of an eye. Simply twist the hair at the nape of the neck or at the top of the head, depending on the severity of the style you desire and secure with a hair tie or pins.
I love adding a headband or hair piece to the back of the band to add an extra accessory to the look.
Pull out a piece of the hair or loose wisps to add an extra flair to the look. This will make your hairstyle look easy and effortless.
